The Fare-Less Cab
An Annapolis Area Guaranteed Ride Home Program

Annapolis, MD - If they need a ride home...we’ll GUARANTEE it! Clean Commute Annapolis and ARTMA want your 'clean' commuters to have a way home in the event of an emergency and have launched the Fare-less Cab, a Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program.

It's just gotten easier to take the bus, join a carpool, ride a bike, or walk to work now that you can get home in the event of an emergency and it's free! The Annapolis Regional Transportation Management Association (ARTMA), in partnership with Clean Commute Annapolis, is offering a 'Fare-Less Cab' guaranteed ride home (GRH) program for employees of Annapolis area businesses. This program provides commuters who regularly take transit, carpool, bike, or walk to work in the Annapolis region, a free cab ride home up to four times per year in the event of an emergency.

This is a great program if you want to save money and time by 'clean commuting' but worry how you'll get home if an emergency pops up. Now you don't have to rely on your car and all the expense and stress that comes with driving to and from work every day on our congested roads and bridges - because you can relax on an Annapolis Transit bus or share a ride with one of your colleagues, knowing that you have a free cab ride home in the event of illness (personal or family) or unscheduled overtime. To be eligible, all you have to do is hold a monthly or yearly Annapolis Transit pass, or carpool, walk or bike to work at least eight times per month.

Contact the Clean Commute Annapolis representative at 410-263-7964 x 107 to find out if your employer is enrolled in the 'Fare-Less Cab' program. If they are, we will tell you who your company representative is and they will supply you with a voucher. When an emergency arises, just pull out your voucher, call one of the participating cab companies, give the voucher to the driver and away you go. But what happens if your employer isn't enrolled in the program? Contact your HR department or let Clean Commute Annapolis know and we can follow up with your company. It's free for employers to join and they only pay for a portion of the utilized vouchers.

There are numerous benefits to employers who offer this guaranteed ride home benefit and it's easy to implement and administer. The 'Fare-Less Cab' program has tax credit benefits; boosts recruitment and retention; reduces absenteeism; improves employee morale; costs less than providing parking in the downtown area; and demonstrates your desire to improve our economy and way of life through alternative transportation initiatives. Enroll today by calling 410-263-7964 x 107.
